Norm Klapper

Process Equipment Corporation - Manufacturer's Rep

Norm’s formal education began in 1972 when he began studies in Biology, Botany and Life Sciences.  He attended the University of Maine and went on to work as a Research Assistant in Weed Science at the Cornell University campus, with plans to begin a graduate degree in Agronomy and Plant Genetics.  After taking a year off to travel in Europe, where he met his wife (and PEC business manager), Helen Toper, he went back to get his MBA Degree from RIT in Rochester, NY.  Upon graduation in 1981, Norm moved to Boulder, CO to take over his Uncle’s business, a manufacturer’s representative firm which concentrated on corrosion resistant products such as fiberglass pipe,  grating, tanks, doors and special Teflon dual laminated fabrications.

The epoxy floor coating product line was added in 1991 and PEC has represented ICO, now Milamar, since that time.  PEC has been a successful manufacturer’s agency for 37 years with all product lines currently represented for over 25 years.   Norm says the thing he likes most about the business is seeing behind the scenes of so many industries and manufacturing operations and being part of solutions to corrosion problems.  Providing top quality products that are long-lasting and easily maintained is also very satisfying.

As mentioned, Helen runs the business side of the company and along with Kelly Banuelos, a 12 year veteran and key member of the team at PEC, Norm looks forward to many future success stories, working closely with the Colorado based MAP and other certified installation contractors.
